…only to find that it has been discontinued! (Admittedly, this one was Limited Edition).
I absolutely adore Lush fresh handmade cosmetics – I love their ingredients, their company values and campaigns. It’s so easy to shop there for vegan products as they’re clearly labelled with The Vegan Society logo.
When I came across their Twilight Shower Gel, I was instantly hooked – I have to confess that I’ve never been a huge fan of the scent of lavender, but in this product it really works. Don’t get me wrong, lavender is a stunning plant – I have many different varieties on my front garden to provide nectar for insects, especially our ever declining bee population. But as far as perfumes and cosmetics go I’m just a sweet-toothed raw-cake-mix-kinda-girl who’s not often in touch with her delicate, floral feminine side. However, this gel has an intoxicating combination of scenty lavender oil (Lavandula angustifolia), Tonka Absolute (Dipteryx odorata) and benzoin resinoid (Styrax tonkinensis pierre) the latter both adding the sweet aroma of vanilla. It smells malty, floral fresh and dessert sweet all in one go – a reminder of a beautiful lavender infused milk ice cream I enjoyed from a vegetarian Indian restaurant once (during my pre dairy free days).
The fragrance lasts for ages on your skin as well as in the bathroom when you have finished your shower, in fact its sweet essence lingers throughout my upstairs rooms all day just from the remains on the sponge. A little certainly goes a long way too, making it great value for money.
The label says…
‘Lavender and malt notes shower gel to calm, relax and comfort as it helps you transition from day to night. Do you want to look up at the night sky and remember that you are part of it? Then Twilight will help you connect. For a good night’s sleep, use this before bed. ‘
…it does what it says on the tin.
So please Lush, hear my plea to bring back this soothing, comforting hug in a bottle, as performing my ablutions won’t be the same without it!
